What are Dental Crowns?

What are Dental Bridges?

Upon examining your smile, Dr. Boparai can recommend one of two types of bridges:
- Fixed – Also called permanent bridges. They are secured in place by bonding the abutment crowns directly to teeth or by attaching the pontic to the surrounding teeth.
- Removable – This bridge is bonded to your smile with metal clasps or precision attachments.
Gold alloys, non-precious alloys, porcelain, or a combination of these materials can be used to design your bridge.
Having a dental bridge placed takes two or three appointments. When you first come into Township Dental, we will prepare your adjacent teeth by etching off a very small amount of enamel; this ensures the bridge can bond properly. Like with crowns, impressions are taken so the structure fits you. It takes several weeks for a permanent one to be made, and when it is, you’ll need to come back to our clinic to acquire it.
